Lake Placid, Saranac Lake and Tupper Lake forms what is commonly known as Tri-Lakes region. In particular, Lake Placid has hosted the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics, making it one of the most successful modern villages in the World. 1. Lake Placid Olympic Ski Jumping Complex

With two 90- and 120-meter ski jumps towers built for the 1980 Olympic Games, this venue is worth your visit. Apparently, it is used every year in preparation for 90- and 120-meter ski jumps towers built for the 1980 Olympic Games where aerialists jump into the 750,000 gallon pool. It hosted the Nordic Jumping events during the 1980 Winter Olympics.

2. Lake Placid Equestrian Stadium

This facility hosted the opening ceremony of the 1980 Winter Olympics as well as all the Equestrian Events. With a 30,000 sitting capacity, you can be sure that this facility is home to scintillating events - ones that you cannot afford to miss.

3. Lake Placid Olympic Sports Complex Cross Country Biathlon Center

Biathlon, Cross-country skiing, Nordic combined (Cross-country skiing) are some of the events that were held in this complex during the 1980 Winter Olympics. With 51 kilometers trails that are suitable for cross-country skiing, the facility is toady used for hosting an event called ski marathon called the Lake Placid Loppet.

4. Mt. Van Hoevenberg Olympic Bobsled Run

This is a bobsleigh, luge and skeleton that was used both in the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics. In year 2000, the venue hosted the FIBT World Championships and FIL World Luge Championships. In 2010, the track was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is one place you must not miss during your Lake Placid Olympic Tour.

5. Herb Brooks Arena

This was formerly called the Olympic Center and was used to host the figure skating and ice hockey games. The Arena is poised to host the crowning events of Eastern College Athletic Conference Hockey League's championships in the 2013–14, 2014–15, and 2015–16 seasons.
